This Code of Conduct explains expectations for anyone participating at an MYNOG event (Conference / Workshop / Seminar), including delegates, guests, speakers, contributors, commenters, sponsors, MYNOG’s staff and all others involved. It applies not only to the physical event, but also to remote participants, online meeting spaces and digital platforms used for and in conjunction with the event.
The MYNOG Event encourages and welcomes everyone to participate, regardless of ethnicity, religion, origin, colour, age, appearance, disability, gender, gender identity and expression, or sexual orientation.
It is expected that participants behave properly and positively at all times: showing respect and courtesy to others wherever possible, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
MYNOG is dedicated to providing a conference experience where all participants feel welcome and comfortable to participate fully. MYNOG is committed to providing an environment free of the following unacceptable behaviours:
- Deliberate intimidation or stalking.
- Taking photos or recording videos in a harassing manner.
- Photography or recording in sessions where it is not permitted or expressly prohibited by the presenter or MYNOG support staff.
- Sustained disruption of presentations or other events.
- Aggressive promotion of your own services, products, or causes.
- Making inappropriate physical contact.
- Unwelcome sexual attention.
- Sexual images or content of any kind displayed in public spaces.
- Verbal comments or actions that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion.
- Engaging in any illegal activity, or activity that violates MYNOG’s agreements with sponsors, venues, and contractors.
- Ambush Marketing or similar marketing or advertising activities that seek to ride on, or benefit from, MYNOG without being a contracted sponsor, or acting outside of agreed sponsorship rules or entitlements.
- All media requests, including interviews and filming, must be coordinated through the MYNOG secretariat. Media personnel soliciting interviews or recording footage without prior approval are strictly prohibited.
- Advocating or encouraging any of the above behaviour.
If you are being harassed, or observe that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the MYNOG team immediately.
The MYNOG team will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement to provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of MYNOG.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all MYNOG venues and related social events. This includes all online/digital spaces.
Please do not hesitate to contact the MYNOG team if you have questions related to any of the policies or need further clarifications, we’ll be happy to assist you.
